The goal of creating the Gas Mask poster was to showcase an invention that was redefined at some point, and give some insight as to the person who did so. I find it interesting how sinister the gas mask has become since in conception, it was created to protect individuals from smoke during fires, yet now it is forever linked to the horrors of war. I juxtaposed the sinister appearance of the mask against the discovery the inventor used to make it successful, playing its good attentions against its current perception.
